ASB presents prom fashion show

Preparing for prom is always a stress on students. In order to provide a little relief for students struggling with what to wear to the biggest dance of the year, ASB put on a fashion show at lunch in Lancer Plaza on April 17.

Students modeled designs from both Mia Bella and Friar Tux. Prior to the show, the students all had the chance to be custom fitted in the dresses and tuxes and pick from the wide variety of fashions at both stores.

“All of the dresses were beautiful and we spent hours trying on everything,” junior Emma Stringer said. “There wasn’t a dress there that I didn’t like.”

At the show, each “couple” took the stage and struck a pose for the crowd.

The girls modeled the stunning dresses from Mia Bella. The dresses ranged in length and included the new trend of a short-long dress which is shorter in the front and long and flowing in the back. The colors of the gowns were vibrant and each style was also adorned with sequins and sparkle.

As they took the stage and the cameras flashed, every single model looked confident and stunning in the dress which really spoke to the quality and fit of the designs.

As for their dates, Friar Tux provided the boys with a range of designs in men’s prom fashion. From the classic black and pinstripe, to the more modern white tux, the boys took the stage looking dapper and enjoyed being dressed up in front of their peers.

“It was a good opportunity getting to dress up in something you would not normally wear and feel spiffy,” junior Blake Chapa said.

Beyond looking impressive, the suits were all about functionality and were easy to wear.

“I thought they were super comfortable and I liked how we all looked,” senior Tyler Dawson said. “They were all form fitting.”

All in all, the fashion show ran smoothly and was the perfect advertisement for the two companies. In addition to the clothes, each had a booth on campus for the students to check out after the show to get discounts on things like tux rentals.

For everyone who wants to look their best at prom this year and take advantage of these discounts, visit either Mia Bella in Del Mar or Friar Tux which has many stores throughout San Diego County including Escondido, Vista and Chula Vista.
